SUMMER 2008
The College of Performing and Visual Arts is Colorado’s distinctive public university program in the arts. From our nineteenth-century roots, we have achieved and will continue to pursue regional and national recognition for the quality of our arts education and co-curricular programs. Our Front Range home is in the heart of an historically rich community that has emerged as a leader in a vibrant region. While preserving our history, we embrace new social, cultural, and economic opportunities. We are committed to serving the arts and educational needs of the citizens of the region and the state of Colorado.
The College welcomes the summer season with an exciting variety of arts events. From the ever-popular Concerts Under the Stars series in our Garden Theatre to the exciting line-up of plays and musicals produced by our Little Theatre of the Rockies, the College’s array of summer offerings point to the University of Northern Colorado’s role in bringing the best of the arts to our community. In addition to our concerts and plays, the College is also presenting a selection of summer workshops described in this calendar of events.
The College is also making available a wide range of fun and informative mini-courses, clinic, classes, and arts experiences for young people, families and adults. These activities are listed in the booklet (see download above) under the title Hands-on Arts. I hope that you will be able to take advantage of these offerings that have been specifically designed to encourage everyone to enjoy the arts at the University of Northern Colorado.
