Dr. Karen Genoff-Campbell, Professor of Dance is the coordinator of the UNC dance program. She also choreographs for the annual dance concert. Professor Genoff- Campbell has an interdisciplinary doctorate degree with an emphasis in arts administration from UNC. Her master’s degree is in dance from Colorado State University.
Genoff-Campbell received the Telly Award in Education for the video Dance Is. . . ., a video she wrote, directed, choreographed, and performed. She teaches ballet, modern, ballroom, dance conditioning, choreography & improvisation, yoga, stage movement for the actor, and dance performance. She also directed the UNC Tour Troupe for 20 years.
Dr. Genoff-Campbell has studied with many professionals including Alwin Nikolais, Murray Louis, Honya Holm, Laura Dean, Bill Evans, Gus Giordano, Leon Danielian, Matthew Diamond, Karen Steele, Lee and Linda Wakefield, Ron Montez, Liz Curtis, Rufis Dustin, David Sycamore, Denise Weaver, Pierre and Mireille Allaire, Melanie LaPatin, and Tony Meredith.
