Over 90 Down Beat Awards
The Jazz Studies Program at the University of Northern Colorado offers professional preparation for future jazz performers, composers, and teachers culminating in the BM in Jazz Studies and MM in Jazz Studies degrees and the Jazz Studies Secondary within the DA program. The program also offers non-jazz and non-music majors with outstanding ensemble and classroom experiences.
The Jazz Studies faculty and staff are experienced professional artist-educators with extensive credits as performers and composer/arrangers. Among our faculty you will find Grammy nominees, National Endowment for the Arts grant recipients, and finalists at international competitions.
Alumni of UNC Jazz Studies are performing, teaching, and succeeding in arts administration positions all over the world. UNC Jazz continues to have an extremely high placement rate for our graduates.
UNC Jazz also produces the annual UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival, the largest event of its kind in the nation, and operates UNC Jazz Press, one of the largest jazz publishing companies. Other programs include the Sunset Jazz Artist Series and the UNC Jazz Camp.
